Toyota has already achieved a reduction of 45% from 1990 to 2010, (see Environmental Report 2011, p. 34-35), but Toyota does not mention an objective for the year 2020. SOURCE
2. Has the brand disclosed the annual carbon footprint of its 'own operations', including owned production facilities? Toyota disclosed a carbon footprint from 2007 to 2010 (see Environmental Report 2010, p. 35). Previous annual reports disclose carbon footprints from earlier years also. SOURCE
3. Has the brand already reduced or compensated its CO2 emissions from its own operations (including owned production facilities), by at least 10% in the last 5 years? Toyota has achieved a reduction of 35% based on 2007 to 2010 figures (see p.35). SOURCE
4. Does the brand disclose a full carbon Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of its main car models or series, so that the carbon emissions caused by the car production (from raw materials to final product) are also transparent? Toyota announced that it conducted a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of four new models (see p. 47 of the 2011 Environmental Report, previous source) but Toyota only disclosed a carbon emissions LCA on the CT200h . For other cars a LCA was not published. Click source for a description of LCA policy. SOURCE
5. Does the brand plan to achieve an average CO2 emission of 130 grams per kilometer (g/km) or lower for its European car fleet prior to 2015? Toyota's European fleet currently averages 130 g/km CO2 (see p.4 after downloading European Sustainability Report). SOURCE
6. Has the brand achieved an average CO2 emission of 160 grams per kilometer (g/km) or lower for its European car fleet? Toyota's European fleet currently averages 130 g/km CO2 (see page 4 of European Sustainability Report). SOURCE
7. Has the brand achieved an average CO2 emission of 150 grams per kilometer (g/km) or lower for its European car fleet? See remark for climate change question 6. SOURCE
8. Has the brand achieved an average CO2 emission of 140 grams per kilometer (g/km) or lower for its European car fleet? See remark for climate change question 6. SOURCE
9. Has the brand achieved a 4% CO2 emission reduction of the car fleet average in the last two years? Toyota's average European fleet reduced by 10,3% from FY08 to FY10 (see p. 5 of European Sustainability Report). SOURCE
10. Has the brand achieved a 10% CO2 emission reduction of the car fleet average in the last five years? Toyota's average European fleet reduced by 24,5% from FY06 to FY10 (see p. 5 of European Sustainability Report). SOURCE
11. Does the brand sell a car that has a CO2 emission of 100 grams per kilometer (g/km) or lower? Toyota sells the Prius and Auris with a CO2 emission of 89 g/km (source: Toyota UK, also checked for NL). SOURCE
12. Does the brand sell a car that has a CO2 emission of 90 grams per kilometer (g/km) or lower? See remark for climate change question 11. SOURCE
13. Has the brand developed a prototype car that has a CO2 emission of 70 grams per kilometer (g/km) or lower? Toyota has a prototype car HT-EV, which is an electric car that emits zero emissions and has a kWh of 47, when calculated based on Tank-to-Wheel this represents 17 g/km. not clear how the use of electricity of the car contributes to additional CO2 emissions. So not clear if the 70 g/km is met with this prototype. SOURCE
14. Does the brand sell a hybrid, electric or fuel cell car on the European market? Toyota launched its hybrid car "Prius" in 1997 (p. 6) and recently introduced a hybrid version of the Auris. SOURCE

Toyota UK provides product specifications including g/km fuel efficiency for each car series (first click on a series and then click on "prices and specifications"). Also checked for NL. SOURCE
