At the end of 2010 Nespresso sourced more than 60% of its coffee from 40,000 farmers who were a part of the Nespresso AAA Sustainable Quality™program (Nespresso's collaboration with Rainforest Alliance) which means that a minimum of 60% of the coffee beans are certified. |

Nespresso main packaging material is aluminum, a material that is infinitely recyclable. Recycling aluminum generates only 5% of the CO2 emissions compared with primary aluminum. Because of these environmental benefits, the company developed its own recovery systems to collect and retain capsules for recycling, aiming to recycle 75% of the capsules in 2013. |
